Portfolio > Maine Prairie Studio Residency

The project goal is to create a body of clay to fire in a prairie prescribed burn. She will source material from the land she lives on and research her family’s heritage to create symbolic items for the firing.

Marian wants to experiment with prairie plants as ash to act as glaze material to further explore how fire can represent part of the relationships with the prairie ecosystem.

She will be working in the studio during the month of June and will also have a public workshop August 1st.
