Entangled Relationships
Lyndgaard considers prairie restoration and gardening as paths towards mending and repairing the damage caused by industrial agriculture. The rhizomial root patterns of native Prairie plants such as the milkweed intertwine, linking systems in ways to heal the ecosystem underground. The mending happens underground in a dark space of the entangled roots through communications that seem incomprehensible to humans. If we could listen instead of trying to dig, exposing roots to the light, healing could continue. Our fear of the darkness is keeping us from growth and repair.
